I have been MIA lately. Been busy.
My husband and I are moving!
I need to live where the climate is warmer. Too damp and cool here for me, healthwise.. Wont be too far away, my mom is about 30 miles east of here and yes it is 20 degrees warmer so we will look around and decide where we want to settle.
We are packing our belongings and putting it in storage. As I am packing I am also tossing out or will sell at garage sale or donate!! So much stuff that I really dont need or use.
We will take off for a month or two! Just travel here and there....play tourist, visit family and friends, whatever!
Why not.
My husband retired a few years ago so now is as good a time as any.
I will blog and take pictures of our travels.
Also I will be taking my Stampin Up supplies with me. I have a couple of workshops booked, one in southern Ca. and a few online ideas so
......stay tuned!

Yummy Dulce de Leche
A few years ago I had the pleasure of tasting homemade Dulce de Leche. I loved it. It had a smooth caramel flavor. I never got the recipe.
Since then I would go to the store and buy different brands that came in a can or a jar but they never tasted as good.
Then I went on Creating the Hive and came across Donna De Graws Blog about Dulce de Leche Bars. (yummy) Her blog led me to Your Home Based Mom Blog
http://www.yourhomebasedmom.com/
In her blog she gives a recipe for Crock Pot Dulce de Leche.. I had to try it.
OMG!!!!
Not only easy peasy but mmmmmmmmmm so good.... just as I remembered!!
3 8 ounce jars with lid
Crock Pot and water
Pour the SCM equally into jars. close tightly with lid
Put jars in crock pot and cover completely with water. (told you it was easy)
Place lid on crock pot
Put crock pot on Low and let cook for 10 hours
After 10 hours remove jars and open one to taste! mmmmmmmmmm
That's it!!
Thank you Donna De Graw and Home Based Mom!

Pinwheels
I have always loved Pinwheels! I seem to have them scattered around my house ...in flower pots, vases, houseplant decor, even have a few scattered out in the garden! All colors and all sizes! I love them!!
Then, on you tube I saw a lady named Frenchie make a card and embellished it with a pinwheel!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkmuNQZvXHc&feature=plcp
I saw that and .......
I had to make one...then two and so on and so on. My craft table is now covered with pinwheels of all sizes and colors!
With all these pinwheels I had to make some cards Right!??
Here are 2 cards that I made and listed in my etsy store

Recycled Aluminum Cans
My sister and I were sitting on a swing in her backyard, ..her backyard is BIG!
I was admiring her pond, garden art and flower beds as we chatted. She mentioned that she wanted to hang items on the fences, and trees, an eclectic style, a lot of color.... Hmmm.... I thought to myself..her birthday is coming up (6/18), I could make some cool items from aluminum cans and my Big Shot!
When I got home I started working on my idea.
I have a box full of soda and beer cans cleaned and ready for cutting. I used Scallop Dies of all sizes, a Flower Die, Butterfly Die and Circle Die from Stampin Up. I also used a few Embossing Folders to emboss after I cut the designs. Then I pulled out my Piercing Tool and Mat, a few Brads and thin Wire.
Voila! Ready to hang!

Traveling on the Interstate!!
On the 10th of May my husband , my mom and I took off in moms chrysler for Reno to attend my Great Niece's wedding on the 11th.( We took moms car because we thought it would be easier for her to get in and out of the car...we have a truck). On Hiway 5... in middle of
nowhere land the car made a loud noise ,started smoking and just stopped! .
Called AAA, and after a couple of hours and a few BIG TRUCKS zooming by the tow truck arrived.( a couple of cars did stop and people offered to help or they offered water, which was nice)
Once we all got into the tow truck the driver made a U turn on the freeway (I mean it.... we were in the middle of nowhere land) We arrive at the only garage in a very small town . Its closed...luckily the mechanic was sitting in his car and saw the tow truck. He came over and took the information etc. Tow truck driver says he isnt leaving us in the middle of nowhere (It is late and very dark outside) so he takes us to the only Hotel/motel in town.... no vacancy. So he takes us to a Mexican restaurant nearby that is still open and lets us out after making sure that my son 2 1/2 hrs away (closest person to where we were) is coming to pick us up. At the restaurant ( food was excellant BTW) the waitress and the owner made us very comfortable, let us put our suitcases safely away, charge my cell phone. Well.. they close at 9 pm my son is still an hour and a half away. Waitress didnt want us to sit on bench outside ..so she takes us to her house around the corner and there we waited for my son. Her whole family was so nice. We became friends with them and actually had a good time! It was instant friendship. When my son arrived they told him to sit and relax before we head out.
We finally arrived at my sons house at 1:30 in the morning. On Sat my son, his fiance, mom, my husband and I took off to my sister's home in Reno.
Three weeks later the car is still in the shop, 2 cracked heads and waterpump. It is too far from home to have it towed so.... we rented a car in Reno and drove home.
.....oh and the rental.... An hour and a half from Reno we noticed a nail in the front tire, so we got it fixed at a well known tire place. An hour later we stopped to get gas and we noticed that the same nail is still in the tire!! Husband called the tire place.. and "oops, forgot to take the nail out"!! We just drove home with the nail. WE WERE GOING TO GO HOME!!
Its not funny but it is!!
Must look at it this way.... a bad thing became a good thing...made friends with wonderful people, My brother in law had just got home from the hospital so I was able to help him and my sister during our stay, spent good quality time with family, My mom really enjoyed her visit with my sister, brother in law and grandkids (first time she has been away from home in years ). So as they say
" God has a reason"
Now that I am back I need to get going with Stampin up. I didnt bring any of my craft "stuff" with me because 'we would only be gone for a few days!'
The new catalog came out June 1 and is in English and Spanish. I ordered a few so if you would like a copy let me know and I will send one to you.Or you can see the catalog on my site.

Sunshine and Flower Fields
I love the warm weather. I seem to be more motivated to do something!
Right now the flower fields are in bloom. It looks so pretty, a carpet of color on the ground. In the evening you can smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers.
Some of these flowers will be placed on floats for the annual Flower Festival. Years ago the fields were everywhere but now we only have a few fields left. The parade had many floats, now only a handful. Kinda sad.
To see some of the flower fields go to google images type in Lompoc Calif flower fields.
There are so many pictures, they are just beautiful.
I am going to go outside and enjoy this nice weather.
Have a great day!!

Gift Cards
I like small gift cards to go along with a gift bag or package. I really dont like the plain cards that
usually come with a gift bag. They match but... not really personal.
I decided to make a few to have around for myself and a few to sell on my online shops.

I choose a variety of all occasions. Happy Birthday, Thank you etc etc...
I made the envelopes too. I used my Diagonal Score Plate from Stampin Up. Easy peasy!
(I am now addicted to making envelopes!! All sizes!!!)
I used scrap pieces of DSP paper and Card Stock from my scrap box and I used the Simply Scoring
Tool, Punches, Stamps, Ink, all from Stampin Up!.
